Faith comes easy when things are going 'right' but true Faith is only realized in the face of adversity, embracing the uncertainty and trusting the natural unfolding of life. Realizing that hurt and betrayal are inevitable as part of the human experience but choosing to Trust anyway. The potential for it All lies within each of us and complete acceptance of that allows for a greater understanding of everyone and potential freedom for the Self.

Most people don't know how to dance to the music because they don't know how to Be the music.

The things we call mistakes when viewed through the lens of awareness become quite the opposite... God makes no mistakes.

Who's afraid of the dark?

Pain itself IS the catalyst. When looked at it becomes the propeller toward self realization and one's own greatest potential...who knew the dark could contain so much light?

The Ultimate Mystery

The ultimate mystery is Oneself. So much cut off so feelings don't arise. We know more about the planets and stars than we know of human nature and the workings of the Soul. We can calculate the orbit of the earth around the sun yet not the orbit of our soul which resides partly here and partly in eternity. Denying anything in the self causes it to wheedle it's way into life in a covert fashion. Acknowledging that it All exists within with complete honesty to oneself leaves no room for denial. Awareness allows it All to exist.

Projecting one's own pain is the curse of the world. Going into it fully is the only way out of it.

One in All...All in One.

The Fool is the one who looks in the mirror and denies his own reflection...It's ALL a reflection. Denying Nothing...just part of the Soul's exploration.

Soulful Living.

Imagination is the soul's vehicle for expression. Stagnancy occurs when the Soul is not free to express...if we don't live with Soul, we don't live at all.

We can't discover the pearl if we don't break open the shell.

Self Inquiry

Self Inquiry is the only route to Real Love.

It doesn't get caught in the trap of the emotional love game where the ego plays with itself. It asks Nothing of the other but gives again and again...not in a self sacrificing way because it realizes the more it gives of itself the more it expands. It is never self seeking and so doesn't need to put itself on display or look for mere flowery accolades of false affection. It trusts implicitly because it can never be diminished. Takes nothing personal because it can't be offended. Needs nothing from another because it knows that it's complete so when the dance between two happens it's always One...it simply Is the other so how can it not give to itself? In it's own fulfillment it overflows and touches the other at it's core. It revels in honesty because it knows Truth is always the key. Compassion is it's greatest ally and fear is it's only victim.
It can only be realized by seeing through the confusing illusion of that which it's not.
Love always prevails...Faith in action.

What we say we don't want is, all too often, what we do want...self delusion at it's best.
The mind can never understand the longing of the soul and the soul will never stop trying to express. But maybe in the realization of that clarity is gained as another layer peels away and more and more is revealed.

Truth in not knowing.

When we cling to what we think we know we can never be guided to the Truth that resides in the don't know  mind...the only real knowing. The greatest gift we can ever give ourselves is to admit that just maybe we were wrong.

When is Enough Enough?

It's Always Enough.

 The Universe makes no mistakes...those are merely human misconceptions.

Justice not punishment.

There's a huge difference between righteousness and justice. Justice helps brings balance to a world where ignorance is sometimes prevalent. Punishing the perpetrator isn't the answer when their actions are born of ignorance but not enforcing justice allows that ignorance to run rampant. It's needed to protect the perpetrators from themselves a s much as the victims.

I Wish You Enough

Maybe the best we can ever wish anyone is just Enough.

Loving What Is and laughing.

Laughing at it all will bring us far closer than any searching. How can I find something I Am?...it's impossible, I may as well try to kiss my own lips.

We're always Home...if we'd only take that one moment to realize it Now. We silly humans spend time and distance looking for something that's always Here and Now.

Living in the Moment

Love's no kryptonite.

All true superheroes know that their nemesis is merely a reflection of themselves. The only difference between the hero and the villain is the hero makes every choice moment to moment with conscious awareness. He realizes the other is within him too but chooses his actions for the greater good of all and so his true power is always revealed and the hero reigns supreme.

No falling...just Being.

How can we fall out of something that we Are? That's just the human condition that we all fall prey to.

 Love knows no exceptions, none and no-one...it's All inclusive.

Mix together
1 cup of listening
1 cup of patience
1 cup of understanding
Blend in 1 cup of laughter and 2 cups of kindness
Sprinkle on some caring and sharing
and unlimited amounts of Love and Compassion
Dish up warmly with a great big hug!

No Problem!

Things just happen to force us to go deeper (no problems), simply Life having it's way. It always has and always will...to resist anything is futile, it just Is.
When our backs against the wall that's when we can see who we truly Are.

Eternal Self

The conflict within the individual psyche is fueled by the self image we try to uphold. Letting go of that image is the only thing that reveals the True Self....an exchange of the transitory for the Eternal.

Comforting paradox

Becoming comfortable with paradox and confusion brings clarity. Now is that a confusing paradox or just comfort with the uncomfortable? Say what?

Kids are afraid of the dark, adults are afraid of the light... I've come to like them both :)

Love that mango!

Trying to get the mind to understand Love is as futile as trying to explain the taste of a mango to someone who's never eaten one.
Soft,wet,juicy,dribbling still don't do it justice - the mango that is. So how can words ever do justice to that which can never be explained?

Love....that mango and everything else!

Knowing...It's not in the mind

There's a huge difference between knowing the name of something and actually knowing something.

Shape Shifting or is it Shift Shaping?

With awareness we shape shift from moment to moment. It's impossible to grow and evolve and remain the same.

Complicatedly Easy or Easily Complicated? ... Simply Misinterpreted.

Words come easy, trying to convey the meaning behind them...not so easy.
Everyone has their own spin and the intended meaning often gets lost.

Accepting - Longing

Acceptance can't happen until both sides are acknowledged...otherwise we're always yearning for the other half. This whole journey is one BIG PARADOX.

Strong Fragility

Clear Confusion

Doubt and confusion lead to the realm of the don't know mind...that beginner's mind that conditioning has not  smeared. From confusion comes clarity...that two sided coin once again.

Meaning...less

Meaning...there is None. Only that which the mind attaches.

Stripped Naked

When all defenses are stripped, everything else falls away...

Nothing is left, and that's really all there Is.

Soul Expression

The mind can only ever try to analyze and vent the emotions, Expression is the gift of the soul both to the self and others.

Trust

Faith in the process is holding on to the Trust that some day it'll all make sense.

Unexpected Kindness

Kindness often comes in the most unexpected guises. The heart of humanity never ceases to amaze.

Contraction - Expansion

Contracting - Expanding..one can't exist without the other. 

The pain of Contraction is the portal to the birth of Expansion.

Life never stops teaching us but we only ever learn what the mind is open enough to receiving.

The Illusion

What's real never changes.

What isn't real is always changing...The Illusion.

Nothing Superficial

Love sees through the superficiality of appearances.
Love hears through the superficiality of the ego's deluded language.
Love can't speak lies though to the ego Truth cannot be heard.
It touches only that which is real in the other.

Genuine compassion is it's only ally.

The closer we get to Truth, the greater the struggle... that old buddy ego just doesn't want to let go :)

Enlightenment - Dropping the 'self'.

It can never be attained by the mind. Those who are enlightened neither think or know they are...there's no self to think it and no self to know it.

Some people don't love, not because they don't want to but because they simply don't know how to...and they're the ones that need it most.

The Only Freedom

Love just keeps on giving, no expectations...the freedom in that. May everyone get IT.

A Crack

An open mind and an open heart go hand in hand...sometimes all it takes is a crack to allow love to enter.

It all comes down to Trust

And not becoming disillusioned along the Way... Not easy.

Truth

It's Gut Wrenching but is the only key.

No words

Some characters sound as though they speak my tongue but they may as well be speaking a foreign language. When  words are understood without having to 'think' about them they sound different, those other words are just too tiring. Words that don't need to be spoken are probably the best of all.

My Reflections

All just characters of my imagination. I create each character and none exist if I don't imagine them. Each image in the mirror looking back at me showing me myself...I JUST WANT TO SHATTER THE MIRROR.

Revealing

Nobody teaches us anything, they simply reveal to us parts of ourselves that we've held out of our awareness...if we're ready to see. And it's not always pleasant.

Love

Both the body and the individual mind will be gone some day...What remains beyond that is All that really matters.

Such Raw Beauty

There's a heart-aching so sharp, so sweet and so bottomless, that both shatters and reassembles us. Such terrible beauty accompanies it, such fathomless yearning, such exquisitely painful gratitude. Endless is this beauty. Upon its shores we break and spill, emptied of the familiarity that self-centers our days and ways.

So very soon we are gone, like dreams vanishing before morning's habits. Did we leave a mark? Only wingprints in endless sky, tracing evaporating goodbyes. Tombstones soon but stardust. Life is our signature, scrawled by the infinitely varied shape-takings of the Real. Such raw beauty, beauty to die for, beauty both to bow to and to be, beauty that simultaneously outlives and is us.

Death makes Life worth living. Death makes beauty unspeakably obvious. Death makes Love unsurpassably important. Death wakes us up. What better ally could we have than Death? Death gives all the same opportunity. Death leaves no one out.

Life is, among other things, a Near-Death Experience. The passing of all things breaks our heart open to what matters most of all. Only through intimacy with Death do we find intimacy with the Deathless.

Gazing into soft blue sky, dissolving in its boundless embrace, cradling each of its clouds, whether weeping or thundering or dancing. Beauty beyond beauty coupling with undisturbable peace, through their succulent embrace revealing — not explaining, but revealing — that each moment contains all moments. This the deep lovers cannot help but recognize, as they die into joy, surrendering their all to the Beloved until they are but clearings for that One. Naked openness, owned by none and belonging to all.

Avoiding Death kills us. Are we not, when we truly tire of doing time and redecorating our cells, dying to live? Dying to really live, to fully live? Dying to stop pretending we are not pretending? Dying to at last enter and fully, fully embody the Life we were born to live?

Such dying is but birth, a labor of love, a making room for a deeper Life. The tenderest upstart green cracks and splits open the concrete sea upon which we are shipwrecked. The messy ecstasy of birth unravels our straitjacketed identity. We bleed and soar, waves breaking on ever-virgin shore, dying into the Undying.

Silence is our witness. Silence has seen it all. Silence cradles our pain until its ache wakes us.

Death doesn't happen to Life. Death serves Life. The beauty of it all, the hyperbole-transcending majesty and wonder of it all, both brings us to our knees and wings us. We go from survival to living, and from living to being lived, and from being lived to Being, losing everything along the way except what most matters.

Loss breaks open the heart, dissolving its armoring. Loss gives beauty its true depth. Death is the mother of loss.

The blue fire of the dying poet's eyes makes ruggedly transparent art of his ravaged face. He cries out, his hoarsely impassioned words the last sigh of a vagabond wave, seafoam dying on some midnight beach. His freedom is in having no choice. His love empties his mind and leaves his body see-through. His final poem is an infinitely sadhappy smile as he freefalls into Death.

And what is his message for us? Let go, let your heart break, let your life be beauty made visible, let all things awaken you, let your life be Poetry, the music of Truth, the epiphanously idiosyncratic soulsong of significance.

And all the words die so, so soon in an avalanche of Silence, their sound and meaning and audience gone. But how they danced in their bright sliver of a moment! And how we danced and loved and wept and blazed in our brief time!

The door is, as always, already open. Openness awaiting openness. The Invitation that will not go away. We are dying to live. Let us not wait any longer. Let us do what it takes. There are not higher stakes.

Alive in the uncomfortable zone

Stagnancy occurs in the comfort zone...a fear of moving beyond what the current mindset clings to. But freedom and aliveness can only occur beyond the wall of what's familiar to the small mind. Expansion only happens when the shell of the mindset is broken, when the defense mechanisms arise and we're willing to just be with the uncomfortable feelings of what the mind tells us and tries to cling on to. To hear the Truth and feel the squirming within, to question just maybe we could be wrong, to allow the mind to expand to an acceptance of other possibilities.The Truth is what the small mind least wants to hear but Is ultimately what shatters the shell and allows the Real Self to be born.

Divine Guidance

It's the only voice worth listening to...It always steers in the right direction.

Pain and Suffering

Pain is an inevitable part of this journey we call life. But suffering is the script our minds write to avoid going into the pain. The cure for pain is in the pain itself for those with the courage to go there. For those that don't suffering becomes the story their mind clings to, holding them in a mental cell and self created hell. The key for the cell is a willingness to feel the pain and let go of the story the mind has created. The truth can only be embraced by letting go of one's own self delusions even when the mind squirms and will try to avoid it at all costs...no easy task but one worth embarking on if freedom is to be realized.

Dying to Live

Death is inevitable but a conscious choice of a death of the 'self' while still in the physical body leads to a realization of the True Self, and a full embodiment of life.

Emerging

It has to All collapse in on itself before emergence is complete.

Letting go

I know it's there...just give me the strength to see the gift in this one. Why does trusting the Universe have to be so fucking hard?

Communication

Language can be such an ineffective way of communicating.

The modern journal

Writing in a journal is a way of Self discovery. Blogging seems to have replaced this art. Unfortunately most use it as a way of enhancing the ego and embellishing their story, should be called "The look at me syndrome"...alas the ego will always crave attention. The path to the Self can only be realized by letting go of the story...taking the attention from the self to the Self. The real Self needs no attention.

The things of the heart can never make sense to the mind...they're not supposed to.

Awareful Play

Some have a gift of playing with words that can be both fun and entertaining but when it comes to someone's feelings, playing with them...not so fun. And that's where awareness is needed the most. Understanding and forgiving another's ignorance is definitely a hard one.

Truth

Truth is a hard pill to swallow...to the ego that is.

The Self

What we're running from and running to are One and the Same.

Keeping it Simple

The mind likes to look for complicated solutions when it's really quite simple...

If you're having a bad hair day, put on a hat - Simple!

Two very different things

Values and beliefs - two very different things. Some people equate the two - it's important to teach kids values but allow them to form their own beliefs, and those are always changeable.

Only an opinion

Jus - Is my opinion right Mom?

Me - Well I guess if it's your opinion, right now, it's right for you.

Jus - Yeah but isn't it right for everyone else?

Me - No, it's just your opinion and everyone else has their's. And even in time you might change your opinion and this one won't be right.

Jus - Yeah I guess that makes sense.

Only we adults make it complicated. We can all be right and wrong at the same time.

So near and yet so far

Most people don't realize that the closer we are to what we want, the greater the fear. And most give up just at that crucial point in time.

Travesty

Maybe the greatest travesties of all are the lies we tell ourselves and the hearts that are afraid to trust.
