When the ego feels the struggle intensely, it is merely a breaking down or stripping away of all that is illusionary, and the closer one comes to fully realizing reality, the more the ego will panic. So when things seem to be at their worst you are so much closer to the best than you realize...hold on tight and don't give up :))
