The Truth only ever hurts to the ego and the One offering it is only ever coming from Love... don't let the ego win Now when You have made so much progress becoming aware of it. Coming from Love One can't ever offer any less than the Truth because to do so is a disservice to Who You Truly Are..that's the gift and the path to freedom that the ego does not want You to see.
Truth appears to hurt to the ego, both in the giving and receiving, but Real Love knows the Truth and can offer no less because, in the realizing of it, that's where freedom lies. The moment of being offended contains the point of realization.
