Simple Complex

Is it any wonder that we, as humans, have difficulty conveying what we truly mean through words. The very language we've created confuses us from childhood with words that don't sound as they should or are spelled differently to the sounding patterns we're taught...maybe why I love Dr Seuss.
I guess Math always made sense to me because numbers follow a sequence and there's always a solution to every problem. Although at times I think I drove my teachers crazy because I could come up with the correct answer, much quicker, without always following the formula. Seems kind of strange that I lost marks for solving a problem quicker than the complex way that was deemed to be right. Why, as humans, do we make things so complex that are really quite simple? Same theory could be applied to this whole awakening process. Seems to me that those who truly appreciate the simple things in life are often the happiest.
